You can watch this with your child to let them know that it is not easy to lose someone and while they may be experiencing many things, they are not alone.

Tuesday you were provided with some materials to help start a conversation with your child when they are coping with loss and yesterday you were provided with some information how you as an adult can cope with loss. Today, I want to continue that conversation with more ideas on what to do when your child is dealing specifically with a death. While these practices can be applied to many areas of loss and grief, this article from Kids Health gives you 10 more ways to help a child dealing with the loss of a loved one.

To end this week, we wanted to leave you with some further resources. While we hope this week’s content makes you feel more prepared to deal with grief, know that you and your children are never alone. The National Helpline is a great resource to call to get referrals for more help based on your situation. Also attached is a link to a video by Disney that talks about coping with loss. You can watch this with your child to let them know that it is not easy to lose someone and while they may be experiencing many things, they are not alone.
