COVID-19’s Impact on Camp Operations

After careful review of CDC guidelines and information relating to the impact of COVID-19, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee has decided to cancel Overnight Camp for the 2020 season. The health and safety of our Camp community have always remained the first and primary focus of our program and remains our compass in making difficult decisions.

Day Camp registration is open and we’re accepting Campers in smaller groups with a strong commitment to spacing, hand hygiene and disinfecting.

We are heartbroken over a summer without Overnight Camp, even though this is the right decision. We want to assure you during these uncertain times that we continue to keep you and all of our campers at the heart of every decision we make. Rest assured, we are still providing day campers with full days of fun, exploration, and social-emotional development, but all of our programs, activities, and hygiene standards have been updated to reflect COVID-19 safety protocols. We have also discontinued field trips and specialty camps in addition to overnight stays.

We are monitoring the evolving situation closely and following guidelines issued by the CDC, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and Waukesha County Public Health Department. We will continue to operate Camp as long as these agencies deem it safe to do so. As always, the safety of our campers and staff is our highest priority.

Camp Whitcomb/Mason has something for everyone. Kids and teens alike benefit from the educational and recreational activities, while our Leader-In-Training program prepares teens to captain camp activities while learning basic leadership skills.

The cost of a one-week session is $499 per camper and includes lodging, meals, program activities, supplies, staffing and an annual membership to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. Financial aid opportunities are available for members and frequent attendees at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.

Please contact camp for more information regarding fees and scholarships at (262) 538-1190.
